Feed & Disease

Moina
Moina among farmers known as ” water fleas ” . This type of lice have slightly rounded body shape , diameter between 0.9 to 1.8 mm and reddish .
Breeding Moina can be done in two ways , namely in asexual or parthenogenesis ( without fertilized eggs do hatch ) and sexually ( do hatching eggs by mating / conception beforehand ) .
In unfavorable water conditions , individual females produce eggs break or ephipium which will soon hatch when the water condition is good again .
Moina began to produce the child after the age of four days the number of living children for approximately 211 individuals. Every time lambing average 1.25 days later , with the average number of children once out 32 head / day , while Moina lifetime is about 13 days .
Moina used to live in polluted waters organic matter , such as in ponds and marshes . In water there is lots of rotten wood and animal dung , Moina will grow well in waters that have a temperature range between 14-30 ° C and pH between 6.5 to 9 .
type of food that is good for the growth of bacteria Moina . To catch prey , Moina will move an additional tool in the mouth , which causes food borne along the flow of water into the mouth .
Daphnia
Daphnia have a body shape oval , flattened and jointed are not visible . At the bottom there head round snout and grow five pairs of additional tools . The first additional tool called Antennula , while the second is called the antenna in locomotor function as a principal . The other three are additional tools in the mouth .
Breeding Daphnia that are parthenogenesis and asexual or sexually or marries . Breeding is parthenogenesis occurs frequently, the female produces young people . Eggs incubated in the incubation pouch until they hatch. Children Daphnia issued at the turn of the skin . In good water conditions , in addition to individual females also produced individual males . At the time of unfavorable water conditions , individual females produce 1 -2 egg breaks or epiphium which will hatch when conditions are good waters again .
Daphnia start breeding at the age of five days , and then every interval of one and a half days in labor again . Number each time lambing average of 39 tails . Age live Daphnia 34 days , so long as his son is able to produce approximately 558 individuals.
Daphnia is a type of zooplankton that live in fresh water , inhabit ponds or lakes . Daphnia can grow optimum water temperature around 21 ° C and pH between 6.5 to 8.5 . Type of food is good for Daphnia growth of bacteria , phytoplankton and detritus . Eating habits by making the flow of the medium , by moving an additional tool in the mouth , so that the food into his mouth .

Culture Daphnia Moina
A. The materials required :
  1. Concrete tub / pond aquaculture 2 x 3 meters , with a height of 1 meter .
  2. Organic fertilizers , ie chicken manure and compost ( 1-1.5 individual need kg/m3 water media
  3. Waring to place fertilizer bags and straps .
B. Implementation :
  1. Fill tub / aquaculture ponds with water to a height of at least 70-80 cm , to maintain a stable temperature and prevent media Moina and Daphnia from the direct influence of sunlight .
  2. Prepare manure , chicken manure and fertilizer is compost with each dose of as much as 1 kg/m3 for the cultivation of Moina , Daphnia , while the cultivation of chicken manure and compost 1 1.5 kg/m3 kg/m3 .
  3. Enter The manure into waring bags , belts and put in aquaculture ponds .
  4. One day later enter the seed Moina 2 gram/m3 or about 3-4 ml and Daphnia ekor/10 by 5 gram/m3 .
C. Harvesting
  1. Moina began harvested on day 7 to day 10 of the initial fertilization , whereas Daphnia on day 21 and after that harvesting can be done every day for 3 weeks at 25 gr/m3 .
  2. To re- cultivation of Moina fertilization by 0.2 first dose of fertilizer can be performed on day 4 after the initial fertilization . While on Daphnia cultivation , fertilization re- done as much as 0.5 doses a week after the initial fertilization . On the cultivation of Moina to ensure the provision of natural feed is continuously required at least 3 pools . Implementation of the 2nd pond culture started on the fourth day of the implementation of aquaculture ponds 1st . While aquaculture ponds 3rd starting at day four after the implementation of the 2nd pond culture started . Thus Moina harvesting can be done every day on an ongoing basis , starting on the 7th until the 10th day , as many as 200-400 gr/m3 water .
Infusoria
Infusoria is the name for various types of single-celled animals that belonged to the protozoa . Infusoria size between 40-100 microns . These sizes correspond to the size of the mouth of the fish larvae , so much cultivated for use as feed
Based on the tool motion , infusoria differentiated into 2 ciliate and flagellates . Ciliate infusoria which is moving using the vibrating hair (cilia ) . Which includes ciliate is Paramaecium caudatum , Didinium narutum , Calpodium capulum , etc. . Flagellates are moving infusoria using feather whip ( flagellum ) . Which includes flagellates are Euglena , Pandorina sp , sp Chilomonas , etc. .
Infusoria mostly live in fresh water , especially where there is a process of decay . The food is bacteria and other protozoa such smaller microscopic algae and yeast .
Infusoria reproduce by splitting themselves and by way of conjugation . Infusoria do not like sunlight so numerous in shaded waters and overgrown water tumbuhuhan .
Culture  Infusoria
A. The materials required , among other things :
  1. Body / 15 -liter plastic bucket size ( number of bucket / tub hanging purposes )
  2. Media Papaya cultivation consists of mature skin , leaves Cabbage / lettuce or banana ( use one of the media ) .
  3. Gauze for wrapping vegetables and close the bucket .
  4. Water ponds or ponds as a source of seed infusoria
B. Implementation :
  1. Fill tub / bucket with water to about 10 liters
  2. Enter one of the materials ( leather ripe papaya , banana leaves or cauliflower ) into the bucket as much as 250-300 grams that have been wrapped in gauze and tied .
  3. Add about 2-3 scoop ( 1-2 liters ) of water ponds / pools , to include infusoria seeds to be cultivated
  4. Place the bucket / plastic tub has been filled infusoria culture in a place sheltered from the hot sun and rain , to avoid unwanted changes in temperature .
  5. Close the cultivation medium bucket with gauze to avoid mosquito larvae or other animals into it .
C. Harvesting :
  1. On the 3rd day , observe the existence of such a thin layer of white clouds above the water surface indicates infusoria media is already well developed ( infusoria population peak usually occurs on day 4 and day 5 )
  2. Take the white layer using a small bowl or plate to be given to the fish fry .
  3. One cycle of cultured infusoria ( for 1 week ) can be used for food fish seeds until the seeds are ready for eating natural food types are larger Moina and Daphnia . Natural feeding infusoria usually only last for 2-3 days .
Type infusoria growing influenced by the type of media used . Each medium has a certain pH can affect the lives of fish seed , giving infusoria if done to excess . In medium papaya skin is the dominant type of infusoria Chlamydomonas sp . and Colpoda sp . While the medium cabbage , banana and leaves kipahit is Paramaecium sp . and Euglena sp . Media papaya and banana skins demonstrate that tend acidic pH and is favored Neon tetra fish , while the media and the cabbage leaves tend kipahit neutral pH . But in general all types of media can be used for the cultivation of infusoria . Giving lnfusoria to seed newly hatched fish , can increase the degree of life turned out to be the seed of 60-80 %
Mosquito Larvae
Larvae ( or larva ) is the larval stage of the mosquito . Larvae live in water and have a closer behavior or ” hang ” on the surface of the water to breathe . The name ” larva ” comes from the movement as it moves in the water . He is also known in the local language as ( en ) choke or uget – uget ( Jw. ) .
Culture Mosquito Larvae
Mosquito larvae culture most easily done as it can use any container as long as it can hold water . mosquito larvae to feed a betta fish require ten containers measuring at least 50 cm x 50 cm . Mosquito larvae live media can use kitchen waste water used to wash dishes containing rice or vegetable trash . However , the kitchen waste water should not contain a lot of soap and oil .
The pengulturan stage mosquito larvae was performed as follows .
  1. Clean and kitchen waste water filter with drain and place in container
  2.  Put the container  in the shade and leave it for a week until you see mosquito larvae in it
  3. Harvest the mosquito larvae with a small drain 10 cm diameter made from patchwork (finely perforated fabric)
  4. Throw – pupal mosquitoes if the amount on the surface of the water was too much .
  5. Add a new waste water if the water is seen shrinking number of media

DISEASE
Hickey disease affecting mostly parasitic diseases and nonparasiter . Parasitic disease caused by parasites such as fungi , bacteria , a virus that attacks the internal organs and outer body . While nonparasiter disease comes from environmental factors , such as pH and dH unstable , dirty water to cause lack of oxygen dissolved in water .
Tools
Maybe you do not realize that the equipment used such as drain , containers , jars , and others may be able to transmit the disease from infected hickey ever contaminated the hickey is not affected by when using the same equipment . so it’s good drying sun and warm water immersion at all times to the tool you want to use it.
Tip : always provide medicines in order to perform the treatment as soon as possible when a virus is detected hickey or disease .
Whitespot
The reason is cendawa Ichthyopthirius multifiliis . The fish will swim like jerky , fish – frequent brushing and rubbing his body containers kedinding there are many white dots as a grain of salt .
* Soaking in water dissolved with Mythylene blue for 5 days and the morning sun drying can overcome this disease .
Velvet
Dinoflagellate cause parasitic family , namely Oodinium pillularis sized below 15 microns . The fish will often stood on the surface of the water , tapered tail , body diselaputi pale mucus and body .
  • Soaking in water soluble antibacterial drugs can prevent and cure this disease .
Worm
Nematode worms cause parasitic groups , namely Ascaris Lumbricoides . Infected by feeding less hygienic . If not treated quickly then the stomach will swell up like a balloon .
  • Soaking with anti- worm drugs like wormx etc for 4-7 days to cure this disease .
Pop Eye ( Eye Swelling )
Cause : Bacteria , the condition of the water is dirty
Nature of Disease : Can infectious
Symptoms : Fish-eye began to swell , early stage can start from one eye , then spread to the eyes that only lg , fish are less active, reduced appetite sometimes would not eat at all , can be tapered fins , the color blanches .
When severe swelling will be enlarged so that the fish will look like goldfish chef . If caught at the moment have very big eyes / swollen , most likely the fish will not survive .
treatment :
  1. Isolation / quarantine sick fish
  2.  Replace Water full , place washed
  3. Antibiotics ( Ampicillin , Super Tetra , etc. which one is more readily available , the dose is 1 drop per tank )
  4. Or : Use of drugs Anti Internal Bacteria ( can brand Intrepet , etc. )
  5. Salt Aquarium
  6. Change the water full 3 days later , when there tanda2 msh blm improved , repeat the treatment as above .
Inflamed Gills ( Gills Flushed )
Cause : The condition of the water is dirty , causing nitrate poisoning
Nature of Disease : Not contagious
Symptoms : Gills flushed , sometimes to swell due to infection , so hard to breathe and the fish swimming in the water surface terengah2 continue . Gill cover would not close tightly .
treatment :
  1. CHANGE WATER FULL
  2. Methylene Blue ( Blitz Ich , Rid All , Tetra , etc. )
  3. Salt
